Fill jugs and the bathtub before the taps fail. Treat creek and rain water with a filter, tablets or boiling, or risk dysentery. Build a rain catcher and link 55-gallon barrels.
Food spoils on a real schedule. Smoke meat into jerky, fish Crane Lake, plant a garden and protect seedlings from frost.
Board the windows, burn firewood in the stove and dress for the weather. Cold and wet bring on hypothermia.
Wire up solar panels, a charge controller and deep-cycle batteries, or run a loud, thirsty generator.
